Consulting

Please contact me if you are interested in my help. I am currently working with school districts across the world, as well as state departments of education, ministries of education, universities, public service agencies, and professional organizations. My main area of interest is developing and providing professional development for teachers, administrators, and instructional leaders. I frequently provide keynote presentations, work on reviews and evaluations of projects, and lead facilitation for retreats on educational change, team-building, technology leadership, and data-driven decision making. The bulk of the consulting work I do is providing professional development to faculties and teams in the area of technology integration and leadership. If you are interested in any of the above, please email me. Some of the specific workshops I’m doing currently include:

  • Planning for iPods in the Classroom - setting goals, establishing policy, planning curriculum, and professional development
  • Redesigning faculty meetings - a big hit with principals around the country!
  • Re-engaging modern students. Considerations for planning in which we use technology for meaningful interactions that focus on good pedagogy, sound content, and authentic technology use.
  • Data Retreats for School Teams - understanding school data from a practical standpoint, maximizing school efforts based on student performance trends, and creating a more cohesive central office/school faculty
  • Web 2.0 - a highly interactive and tons-of-fun session on Web 2.0, the educational side of social software, and teacher productivity tools
  • Leadership 2.0 - issues of critical concern for principals, superintendents, tech coordinators, and other school leaders in evaluating the use of technology in a classroom, aligning school improvement/technology planning, and keeping abreast of legal and policy issues as related to social software and cyber safety
  • General facilitation for educational retreats/academies - I have worked with WestEd to become a certified Authentic Task Approach (ATA) facilitator, helping groups make the most of their time together when needing to accomplish major tasks such as reorganization, keeping a positive culture while working on intense topics, team-building, and school improvement planning.
